Qualifications
I’m a Clinical Animal Behaviourist (CAB) and Full Member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC), registered with the Animal Behaviour & Training Council (ABTC). My approach is always positive, compassionate, and ethical.
I hold a Graduate Diploma in Applied Animal Behaviour (ABTC-recognised) and a BSc (Hons) in Ecology and Wildlife Management from the University of Edinburgh.
My work focuses on building trust and understanding between dogs and their owners. By first exploring why a dog behaves a certain way, I help create strong foundations for lasting change using reward-based, welfare-focused methods.
I’m committed to ongoing learning and regularly attend workshops and seminars to stay up to date with the latest research in canine behaviour.
If my expertise and ethics sound like the right fit for you and your dog, that's fantastic! Feel free to drop me a message using the contact form, and I'll be in touch for an informal chat about your specific needs.
Why I love my job…
Dogs have always been at the heart of my life—they’re family, not just pets.
My career has taken me from Red Squirrel Conservation in the Lake District to creating community nature sites across Europe and designing award-winning gardens in Cheshire.
When the pandemic led to redundancy, I took the chance to follow my true passion: working with dogs. I began as a professional dog walker while studying canine behaviour to degree level, and now devote myself fully to helping dogs and their owners thrive together.
I believe every dog deserves to be a loved member of the family,
and every owner should experience the joy of that bond.My first dog, Mr Shaun. An RSPCA rescue collie/German Shepherd cross. Such a beautiful boy and a gentle soul.
