Problems with Anxiety and Fears

Does your dog hate being left alone? Are they anxious of new situations and hate going on car journeys. Or perhaps they are terrified of fireworks.

If this sounds like your dog, then you are in the right place and I can help.

Your dog seems worried about... well, almost everything.

Maybe your dog panics when left alone, shakes during car rides, hides during fireworks, or freezes up in new places. You can see they’re scared—and it breaks your heart. You just want to help them feel safe and relaxed, but you're not sure how.

Living with a fearful dog can be exhausting and emotional. You might find yourself rearranging plans, avoiding certain situations, or constantly trying to guess what might upset them next.

And with so much confusing (and sometimes outdated) advice out there, it’s hard to know what actually works—or what might make things worse.

That’s where I can help.

Using gentle, science-based methods, I’ll support you in understanding what your dog is feeling, and guide you step-by-step to help them build confidence and cope with the world around them. You're not alone in this—and neither is your dog.

Feeling stuck? Your anxious dog is, too.

If your dog seems constantly on edge—jumpy, clingy, or easily overwhelmed—you’re not alone. Anxiety can show up in many ways, and it’s tough to see your dog struggling to feel safe.

Whether they panic when left alone, refuse walks, or react to everyday things, it’s confusing and emotional. But there is a way forward.

I’ll help you get to the root of your dog’s anxiety using kind, proven methods—not quick fixes. Together, we’ll build your dog’s confidence and help them feel calm and secure again.

Things can get better—for both of you.

Behaviour Support Package

I take a holistic approach to understanding dog behaviour, considering not only the dog’s natural instincts and past experiences but also the environmental factors that may be influencing their actions. This allows me to develop a personalised behaviour modification plan that’s tailored to meet the unique needs of each dog.

This is what I can offer you:

  • Communication with you and your vet to gather as much information as possible about your dog prior to our first meeting.

  • Analysis of all information collected and any video footage of the problem behaviours so that I can fully prepare for the consultation.

  • An in-person consultation at your home where we can explore the behaviour issue in more detail, identify possible causes and discuss ways forward. Typically lasts 90 minutes.

  • A detailed written report outlining all that we discussed in the consultation and with a practical step by step Behaviour Plan for you to follow at home.

  • Bespoke guidance using ethical methods, based on up-to-date scientific research.

  • A compassionate understanding of the issues you are facing with your dog and practical techniques to help you address them.

  • Two 30 minute follow-up sessions, either in person or telephone, to guide you in implementing the Behaviour Plan and address any issues. Usually held 3 and 6 weeks after the consultation.

  • Direct WhatsApp support for 12 weeks after the consultation, for quick guidance at the time when you need it.

  • A summary report sent directly to your vet for a co-ordinated approach to your dog’s care.

  • Completion of any paperwork needed for insurance claims.

Investment: £480

Please note that you may be able to claim for behaviour support on your pet insurance if you have been referred by your vet. Please check this with your insurance provider.

Travel is included in the price for homes within 45 minutes of my home address (New Mills). Other locations will be considered but may incur a travel charge or may be conducted remotely.

Areas Covered

I am based in New Mills, High Peak, Derbyshire and will travel up to 45 minutes for face to face consultations. If you live further away, I can still support you. Behaviour consultations can work really well online.

A Dog Behaviour Consultation is perfect for:

  • Dog owners who never leave their dog alone because their dog gets stressed and anxious.

  • Dog owners that avoid taking their dog in the car because their dog pants and shakes hysterically.

  • Dog owners whose dog is their constant shadow and will follow them everywhere, even to the bathroom!

  • Dog owners simply want their dog to enjoy their doggy life, rather than life being a series of stressful situations.
